Join us at our symposium in Watershed Restoration Held for High School students featuring High School and College student presenters at CSUMBĒs Music Hall.
The second week of May, every year, from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, high school students from area schools attend a day long symposium on Watershed Restoration presented by the Watershed Institute of CSUMB. This free, all day, event features interactive morning presentations by CSUMB watershed science students, and afternoon field explorations in the Ft. Ord Natural Lands.
The program includes a presentation by High school students and CSUMB Earth Systems Science and Policy students, and a panel discussion featuring Watershed Institute Staff and CSUMB Students and Faculty. Afternoon field trips compares natural and human assisted restoration sites, the Ft. Ord dune restoration program, as well as visiting, a large vernal pool.
Area high school students interested in attending are encouraged to contact their science teachers or they can contact Laura Lee Lienk at 582-3689. This day long event is free but pre-registration and parent/guardian permission slips are required.
